How to Use The HIPAA Hippo Extension
Hippo is a browser extension that transforms a standard email into an image file. It is a HIPAA-compliant solution to use a standard email to send an image that won't appear in your inbox, so that your company is no longer exposing its clients' information. It is useful when you want to display a sensitive image without exposing its data, even if it is being viewed on a public web browser.
How can I use it?
You first install the Chrome extension, which then downloads the Hippo service. You must be online to install the extension. Once installed, open your email in the browser.
If you want to send an image to a Google email address, you can create a new Google account. After that, log in, create the account you want to send the image to, then install the browser extension.
How can I whitelist email addresses?
If you want to whitelist specific addresses to have access to Hippo, you need to install the browser extension and click on "Security". In the whitelist section, you can create a new whitelist, enter the email address you want to add, then enter the domain you want to whitelist. When you install the browser extension, you will now be able to use Hippo with any email address that is on the list.
